Evidence-based results demonstrate that interdisciplinary team interventions and the intensity of therapeutic programs work comprehensively in the rehabilitation process, producing beneficial effects on both the speed and effectiveness of recovery in various functions, consequently increasing functionality in daily life activities. To clarify, this intensity refers to the increase in uninterrupted intervention time, relative to the repetition and training of exercises.
In other words, it is proven, with physiological grounding based on learning theories, that task or exercise repetition greatly enhances neural connections, thereby promoting increased synaptic plasticity.
Therefore, our intensive programs include the following approaches:
With the vision of meeting the specific needs of each patient and, consequently, to promote excellence in rehabilitation, we offer our patients Intensive Rehabilitation / Habilitation Programs with a high degree of humanization and quality.
The team is necessarily interdisciplinary, covering areas of human development such as motor, sensory, and cognitive. Furthermore, the group of professionals works cohesively and continuously to provide ongoing, multifunctional, and necessary stimuli for the development of the patient enrolled in an individualized (re)habilitation program.
Thus, we offer a service that can be habilitative, for children from birth, and rehabilitative, for children, youth, and adults who have suffered injuries in the aforementioned functional areas throughout their lives.
Our assessment consultation includes the presence of all technical and medical specialties offered at NeuroSentidos. After this initial moment...
This period lasts four weeks – five days a week – and the schedule, depending on the patient’s needs, may vary between 4 to 6 hours per day, corresponding to the intervention period in which each professional or group of professionals works with the patient.
At the end of the intensive treatment, the technical team will conduct a reassessment, supported – whenever possible – by standardized scales, and a continuity program will be provided to the patient to consolidate the treatment performed. However, we emphasize that it is important to repeat, whenever possible, an Intensive Treatment Program. Thus, together – technical and medical team, patient, and family – we promote the achievement of the desired final goal!
